View full detailsEmpowering Women
We know that ensuring women have access to and control over financial resources is vital to achieving gender equality.
In 2022, this led us to partner with the Ukuni Women in Coffee Association – a cooperative of 194 female farmers who grow our coffee in Mul-Baiyer District, in the Western Highlands of PNG. The remote location of the Ukuni village has led to coffee becoming a vital source of income for these women and their communities. By selling their coffee beans in Australia, we aim to provide a stable source of income to the female farmers – empowering them to build meaningful and sustainable lives.
Supporting Survivors
Family and sexual violence in PNG is complex, with up to 68% of women experiencing violence at some stage in their lives. Out of these survivors, less than 35% will seek help.
Opening in July 2014 with a case management centre in Lae, Femili PNG is focused on providing effective supports to survivors of violence. They were the first Papua New Guinean organisation dedicated to helping survivors navigate the complex care and justice systems. They now have two additional centres in Port Moresby and Goroka, assisting survivors to access safe accommodation, law and justice interventions, financial and vocational support, relocation assistance, and more.
100% of profits from our coffee support Femili PNG's life-changing work.
Sustainable Coffee
Our organic coffee beans are grown naturally, free from chemicals and pesticides, at over 1600m above sea level. With rich volcanic soils and a relatively consistent average temperature of 16-24°C, the Western Highlands have some of the world’s best conditions for growing coffee.
PNG is also Australia's closest neighbour. This limits carbon emissions, as the beans do not need to be transported across the world.
Our coffee is roasted to order in Canberra, Australia, by Niugini Arabica - who specialises in roasting PNG beans. This results in a full-bodied coffee with delicious chocolate and citrus undertones.

-
Award Winning Roasting
Our roaster, Niugini Arabica, was awarded the Best Speciality Coffee Roasters Award for 2022 in the ACT.
With the world's best growing conditions in PNG's equatorial highlands and Niugini Arabica's expert roasting, it's no wonder that our coffee is turning heads and winning awards.
