OUR COFFEE

Our Papua New Guinean coffee is a full body coffee, with delicious chocolate and citrus undertones.

Femili PNG Coffee beans are sourced from the Western Highlands of PNG. The beans are grown naturally, free from chemicals and pesticides, at higher than 1600 metres above sea level. With rich volcanic soils and a relatively consistent average temperature of 16-24°C, the Western Highlands have some of the world’s best conditions for growing coffee. PNG is also located just 4km away from Australia's closest island. This limits carbon emissions, as the beans do not need to be transported across the world.

The beans are then roasted to order in Canberra, Australia, and sealed to ensure freshness. Our roaster, Niugini Arabica, specialises in roasting PNG coffee beans, and knows exactly how to bring out their unique and delicious flavours.

SUPPORTING WOMEN

Every cup of Femili PNG coffee supports women in Papua New Guinea.

We know that ensuring women have access to financial resources is vital to achieving gender equality. This led us to partner with the Ukuni Women in Coffee – a cooperative of female farmers who grow our coffee beans in the Western Highlands of PNG. The remote location of the Ukuni village has led to coffee becoming these women. By purchasing their product, we financially empower women to achieve meaningful, sustainable lives.

100% of profits support Femili PNG's work with survivors of family and sexual violence in PNG. Since opening in 2014, Femili PNG has assisted over 6,100 survivors to access safe accommodation, medical assistance, legal support, financial support, and more. Every sip of our coffee helps to expand Femili PNG's impact.

EMPOWERING WOMEN

Ensuring women have access to financial resources is vital to achieving gender equality. In 2022, this led us to partner with the Ukuni Women in Coffee Association – a cooperative of female farmers who grow our coffee beans in the Western Highlands of PNG. Due to the remote location of the Ukuni Village, coffee has become a vital source of income for their communities. The womens' earnings are often used to maintain their family’s food security, support their children’s education, and for other essential living expenses. By purchasing their product, we financially empower women and their families.

SUPPORTING SURVIVORS

100% of profits support Femili PNG's work with survivors of family and sexual violence in PNG. Since opening in 2014, Femili PNG has assisted over 6,100 survivors to access medical care, safe accommodation, law and justice interventions (e.g., support obtaining protection orders), financial assistance, and more. They also undertake outreach in communities and schools, to raise awareness about violence and the help available. They train community leaders to support survivors in locations they can’t reach directly; and collaborate closely with other service providers to enhance their impact. Every sip of Femili PNG Coffee helps to expand Femili PNG's impact.

The beans are locally roasted to order in Canberra, Australia, by Niugini Arabica - who specialises in roasting PNG beans. This results in a full-bodied coffee with delicious chocolate and citrus undertones.
